Delloyd ventures into bus manufacturing in Indonesia

According to today's news from the Edgedaily.com, Delloyd has decided to ventures bus manufacturing business in Indonesia.

KUALA LUMPUR: Tier-One auto parts vendor Delloyd Ventures Bhd is venturing into Indonesia by acquiring a local company that manufactures buses and bus chasis.

The company announced yesterday that it would acquire a 51% stake in PT Asian Auto International (PTAAI) for RM1.79 million cash.

PTAAI, a bus manufacturer, has a contract worth RM14 million awarded by the Indonesian authority to manufacture and supply a fleet of high-floored CNG buses named “Kodomo” for use in Jakarta.

Other than the Indonesian market, Delloyd said it hoped to supply the buses to other countries in the Asean region.

On home ground, Delloyd manufactures a variety of auto components and accessories that are supplied to manufacturers such as Proton, Perodua as well as Toyota, Nissan and Suzuki.

The company is also in the oil palm plantation business.
